How difficult is Medical Coding and billing?
I was looking into a career in Medical Billing And coding, and on many occasions I have been told that it is really hard. And I dont want to get myself in over my head. Is it really that difficult?
The classes are not hard, it’s the job market that is.
It depends on your location though. If you’re in a large city, not hard to find work at all. But be prepared to start off as a receptionist. Now, if you don’t live in large city, yes it is very hard. Networking will be your best friend. Make friends with people that work in the field you want to go into, and other hospital personnel. Try to get a job in a hospital before you’ve even finished school, even if it’s house keeping or in the cafeteria. It will help you. Hospitals love to promote from within. If you’re already working for them, you are most likely to get first dibs on that office position.
